PPS Instrumental Program
The Pymble Public School Instrumental Program is a volunteer parent organised band program. The Instrumental Committee is a sub-committee of the school P&C and as such is an extracurricular after-hours program.
Our instrumental program invites the year 3 - 6 students primary years at PPS to learn and play an instrument. There are no entry requirements and anyone willing to participate is encouraged to try. Typically children start in year 3 with no prior musical experience. With participation, commitment and practice the students progress to become accomplished musicians by year 6.
Our conductors unashamedly aim high, and our school bands have a strong reputation and a gallery of awards. That said, we aim to make music fun and social as well as hard work! We develop a range of skills including musicianship, working as a team, independence, performing for an audience and goal setting. More than half of Pymble students join the band program and the local high schools comment frequently on their outstanding musicianship and maturity.

Organisation
The PPS Instrumental Program is parent-run and reports to the school P&C. The instrumental committee comprises of one parent for each of the five bands/ensembles, a treasurer, an instrument coordinator, an instrumental convener and one school staff member. For the program to continue to flourish it is vital that we have continued support of parents, so please consider volunteering your time.
